THE LONG-ESTABLISHED, LARGE FAMILY OF SCULPTORS FROM VAL GARDENA, REALIZES STATUES AND WORKS MADE OUT OF WOOD AND BRONZE AS WELL AS BAS-RELIEFS

Our studio is the best place to get to know the Val Gardena art tradition: every work has the certificate and the mark by the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano which guarantees that it has been entirely hand carved. On request models and pictures are made to be handed out to the customer for assessment. We have an open mind about modern statues with the latest symbolism.

10 completely hand-carved sculptures in lime wood of a height of 2-3 meters each for the new church Maria SS. Regina (Gorizia), made by Ferdinando Perathoner.

Ferdinando Perathoner and his family give a special touch to Christs, risen Christs or other sacral statues like Madonnas or Saints. Already in the Early Christian Church it was very difficult to represent Jesus. The figure has a significant value that helps people to reassess the secret of incarnation of Jesus and that leads them to the evangel. The responsibility of each sculptor that creates a depiction of Christ is enormous as he has to visualize the invisible. Through the incarnation, the redemption and the mercy Jesus gives us the chance to remember him and to develop creativity. The incarnation of Jesus Christ is the visible part of the invisible God of the Holy Trinity.

We accomplish copies of statues of a high artistic value that are exposed in sacral spaces or museums or that replace original statues for reasons of security or conservation.

In order to protect the wood-carvings which are produced exclusively by hand, the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce certifies the genuineness of this procedure. This certification is made in two successive stages: a registered trade mark is attached to the object and a certificate is issued declaring that the work is entirely and exclusively hand-made. The application of the trade-mark is done by an expert chosen by the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano.
